Bets Audit Week Ending 05/01

Hockey Bets Audit 04/25-05/01

Kurt Kuklewicz

Last week was like batting practice with a juiced ball at 40 miles per hour. Things just felt easy and that everything was in slow-motion. All week, I made great decisions. The scary thing is that a lot of odds I took were also over +100. If only I had bet more... there's really nothing else to say. I know that all weeks aren't going to be like this obviously, but when they happen, you have to celebrate it or boost about it. Let's review:

Record of pick'ems: 17-3

Profit with pick'ems: $167.92 (or $16.8 betting units)

Record on parlays: 1-1 (1 loser was a $10 free bet)

Profit with parlay: $41.88 (or 9.2 betting units)

Overall profit: $209.80 (or 20.9 betting units)

Record on player props: 14-1

Over player props: 12-1

Under player props: 1-0

Anytime goal scorer: 1-0

Shot props: 2-0

Record on game lines / team or game props: 3-2

Most profitable bet: 5 pick parlay +1523

Barzal ov 0.5 points

Marchand ov0.5 points

Couture ov0.5 points

Beniers ov0.5 points

Boldy ov0.5 points

Downfalls of the week:

- None

I always try to add something to improve upon. However, given the record we had, and the fact that they weren't all mickey mouse bets (as evidenced by the amount of units we won), I'm pretty content, nevertheless.

Strengths of the week:

- Playing the first night's (Tuesday) bets as a 5 pick parlay

- Method of betting

- Confidence

- Keeping mind of teams that rest their players at the end of the season

There were a bunch of things going right for us last week. In general, I felt very confident in most bets. There was only one or two bets that felt dicey, like Pavelski's under 0.5 points against the Ducks at +165, and maybe the shot props I bet on the middle of the week. The shot props were only shaky because I had gone 1-8 in the prior week's results with shot props. Betting the player props as a 5 leg parlay was just a good feeling I had, and added a lot to the total of the week. That 5 leg parlay was wild, I don't think I ever hit a huge +1000 parlay on 5 legs before in any sport. My method of betting has been working well, so I won't go against it anytime soon. Lastly, there was some exploits we took advantage of. For instance, betting Montreal against the Rangers 3rd and 4th line and 1st for the Wolf Pack was entirely dependent on getting news about Panarin and Copp taking a game off. When I realized that they wouldn't play, I also figured that other starters would probably take a day off. This made betting Montreal moneyline at +245 very tempting. For a free bet, I took a chance. I will say though, that this is tough to estimate. When they played the Rangers, they barely won in a hard fought battle, even with all the guys rested. Then, they played the Panthers who rested starters and scored DOUBLE DIGIT goals! So obviously, you don't play around with the house mortgage on these type of exploits, but they are definitely at least worthy of a speculative play.
