Bets Audit Week Ending 02/20
Hockey Bets Audit 02/14-02/20
Kurt Kuklewicz
Thank you Joe Snively! We clinched another week over .500 with single pick'em. This was enough to clinch a decent profit of nearly 4.5 betting units for the single pick'em. However, some erratic behavior with bonuses and parlay picks led to a messy loss there, canceling out any profit we gained from our single pick'em. Let's analyze:
Here is the record this week: 11-10
Additional Bonus Picks: 0-7
Profit with $10 bets in the pick'ems: $46.34
Number of Parlay bets: 0-2
Profit with $10 parlay bets: -$20.00
Profit with Bonus: -$42.35
Overall Profit: -$16.01
Record on player props: 10-7
Over player props: 5-6
Under player props: 2-1
Anytime goal scorer: 3-0
Record on game lines or team / game prop bets: 1-3
Downfalls of the week:
Mediocre performance on over/under player props
Way too many parlay and bonus bets
Erratic behavior
Bad performance on game lines / game prop bets
Betting power-play points on parlays
There's really not much to analyze here. The downfalls of the week were contributed to erratic behavior of parlay and bonus bets that would have given us huge potential payouts, but were all wrong. If one of them was hit, it almost certainly would have guaranteed a huge payout and profitable week. However, this was not the case. Perhaps it is wise to limit these to only 2 or 3 a week. 7 bonus bets were perhaps even irresponsible. Finally, the bad performance in game lines is not something new for us, which is why we have been betting player props.
Strengths of the week:
Anytime goal scorer bets
Utilizing great odds to maximize big payouts
This is strange, but this week, we were 3-0 on the anytime goal scorer. Nazem Kadri, Sidney Crosby AND Joe Snively all contributed to nice payouts. I think it is important to not over-utilize this and keep this in a back-pocket once or twice a week when there are favorable odds and good game history for the player of choosing.
