Yesterday was a pretty good day for pick'ems as we went 4-1 on the day. Joe Snively gave us a tremendous +550 on an anytime goal scorer bet that we featured yesterday. Out of the two parlay we recommended, they were chopped to just one 3 leg parlay (instead of the 2 leg parlay additionally), as Ryan Getzlaf was scratched late for last night's game. Therefore, Conor Garland's o0.5 points cashed us successfully at +105. I'm glad that this actually cashed out, because I've seen sometimes in football where I had someone involved in a 4 leg parlay that got Covid the day of the game. Even though I was 3/3 with the other legs, it just refunded my initial wager with no rewards. That was very frustrating, because it was an under (which technically was true). I thought I would get at least reduced payout in that case, but it was not in the cards.
Today there are only a four games, and I'm really not liking a lot for betting purposes. Here are two player props for tonight, with one bonus flex parlay.
Ryan Johansen o0.5 points @ Carolina (+110)
Ryan Johansen has been quietly racking up a good season with 35 points in 46 games. He has scored nearly one third of his points on the power-play, and he centers that top unit. While Carolina has the first or second best penalty kill in the league, they do let up the most amount of penalties in the league, with over 175 penalties taken. This should ensure that Johansen gets on the ice for a large portion of the game. I think a power-play point is a possibility, but the point bet is more sensible and rewarding enough with over +110 odds on Draftkings. I did see this around -107 or -109 earlier today on Barstool Sportsbet, so it seems +110 is a good steal of a bet here.
Jack Eichel o2.5 shots VS LA (-120)
Now that the "BET JACK EICHEL TO SCORE 2 POINTS AGAINST THE STANLEY CUP FAVORITE AVALANCHE" special scam bets have cooled off a bit, it's time for Jack to get back to business. We have just one game sample to go off of, but it did look like Vegas was cautious with playing him. He finished with 17:32 ice time in his Vegas debut. He is playing on the top line and powerplay, but he was mostly boxed out and contained by Colorado's elite team and defense. Eichel took 2 minor penalties as well, which also kept him off the ice. I think they will keep shuffling lines around to get him going, they already showed they will do this in practice today. Tonight, Jack Eichel may not score a goal, but he will be amped up and ready to give it his all. Three shots is a strong possibility tonight.
BONUS FLEX PLAY
So the crazy 6 leg shot parlay yesterday was a little ridiculous, I admit. We did say we were keeping it exciting. The embarrassing thing was that we were right on only 1/6 legs, which is irrelevant because it is all or nothing on parlays. And that helps me sleep at night.
I happen to be betting $10.50 on this tonight to get $50+ back, but I'm adding this bet to the "bonus" flex because of the uninspiring shot parlay that I made yesterday. Godspeed.
William Karlsson o1.5 shots VS LA (-155)
Teuvo Tervainen o2.5 shots VS Nashville (-125)
Sam Bennet o2.5 shots @ Minnesota (-150)
