Hockey Bets 02/10

Kurt Kuklewicz

Yesterday's player prop bets were fun when we really didn't have a great feeling betting on any game result yesterday at good odds. It helped tipped the scales to 5-4 record on the week. Today we will try another blend of player / game bets with another average number of games today.

Tonight's bets 02/10:

Sidney Crosby anytime goal scorer (+160) @ Ottawa

I'm calling it now- Sid will get his 500th career goal tonight in his home country. He currently sits with 499 goals scored in his career, and he definitely wants it to happen soon. Sidney Crosby has 17 points in his last 11 games. On Tuesday night, he looked unstoppable against the Bruins as he potted a goal and had 5 shots on net. He also had 2 shots that missed the net. He even sprinkled in 2 PIM, 2 hits and a blocked shot on over 22 minutes of ice time. After he got to 499, you could tell Sid really wanted number 500. He had a 2 on 1 and skated down with great confidence and fired the puck on a great save made by Swayman. I don't think he was ever thinking about passing that puck off on that play at all. He is going to get continue to get chances and all his linemates know he is one goal away from 500. It is inevitable to me at this point that Sid will put up his 500th goal against his old teammate and friend Matt Murray, or Forsberg if they go that route instead tonight. Think of Stat Glitchers later when they play the clip on ESPN and talk about number 500.

St Louis Blues 60 min moneyline VS New Jersey Devils (-150)

The Devils took out their frustrations to Montreal Tuesday night with a 7-1 whooping. It was an absolute atrocious showing by Montreal, one that was deemed the final straw for their head coach's fate, as he was fired the next day. But let's not get it twisted here. This is still a very bad team. Jack Hughes is probably out another game on the Covid-19 list. Jersey had their fun padding the stats on Tuesday, but the fun ends tonight. This is also Jersey's 3rd game in 4 nights, and the Blues are well rested from the all star break and are playing at home, where they have 17 of their 26 wins on the season. Bonus points if it is Husso and not Binnington getting the start in net tonight.

Tony DeAngelo o0.5 assists @ Boston (+100)

Were you aware that Tony DeAngelo has 36 points in 37 games played this season? He also has 3 points in his last two games with 2 assists. If he scores a point this year, nearly 75% of the time, it is an apple. Did you also know that no other Hurricane on the roster has more career points against the Bruins in the last 3 years (8 points in 5 games)? In fact, in their last meeting in Boston in mid January, Tony potted 3 assists that night. Enter the Bruins who have been clinging onto one of the last wild-card spots for some time, playing sub-par .500 hockey in the last 10 or so. Marchand is freshly suspended for some really bizarre antics (but who's surprised). Tuukka Rask announced his retirement after a failed comeback. They just squandered a 2 goal lead to Pittsburgh Tuesday and looks like they will also be without Patrice Bergeron, who took an awkward stumble and hit his head off the boards after getting tangled with Sid's skate. Did I mention that Brad Marchand just blew up for no seemingly good reason at Tristan Jarry? I know they have some games played to make up on Detroit and a decent lead on them, but this team could be starting their spiral out of control early this season.
