Hockey Bets 10/22

Kurt Kuklewicz

Our first hockey bets article of the year left us in shambles worse than the state of the Arizona Coyotes financial balance sheet. Today, we have a slate of 5 bets, including 2 game props. There is also a bonus anytime goal scorer round robin with real stats and SCIENCE behind it, for all you degenerates that want to 100X your money quick.

Jake DeBrusk ov0.5 PPP (+310) VS Minnesota

DeBrusk is flying under the radar on this line, because Pastrnak in under +200 to score a PPP and he is on the same line with DeBrusk. The Wild have taken a good amount of penalties (24 through just 4 games) and their penalty kill hasn't been great either, hovering around just 73%. Fleury is confirmed as the starter and he has a brutal 5.96 GAA and .813 SV% on the season so far.

Penguins / Blue Jackets ov6.5 total goals (-125)

The Penguins have played a total of 4 games this season and they scored 6 goals in 3 of them, including a beating of Arizona State (I mean the Arizona Coyotes) and a little more surprisingly, the Lightning and the Kings. Columbus have been in games that have gone over 6.5 in their last 4. Their goaltending hasn't been the best, but they do have 8 goals in the last 2 games. Give me the over and don't forget about Gustav Nyquist owning the Pens in his last several meetings (this is mentioned in a bonus later).

Roope Hintz ov2.5 shots (+105) @ Montreal

Montreal does about average for shots against, but Hintz had shattered this number against them in two meetings last year. He had 4 shots and 9 shots in his only two meetings against the Habs last year, for a combined 13. Hintz is on the top line with Robertson and Pavelski still, so I will back with history and the favorable line deployment here.

Jordan Kyrou ov0.5 points (-135) @ Edmonton

I'll just keep it short and sweet for Jordan. 4 points in the last 4 regular season meetings against the Oilers, skating on the top line with Saad and O'Reilly and likely to face Jack Campbell in net, who is struggling mightly with a 5.08 GAA and .874 save percentage. Book it!

Avalanche / Golden Knights un6.5 total goals (+110)

If you look back at the Avs and Knights only 3 meetings last year, all games ended under 6.5. In fact, all ended under 5.5. The Avs failed to score more than 2 goals against the Seattle Kraken last night, which is a bit concerning. We know that the cup took a beating, with a record number of drops and dents received during various celebrations, but you have to wonder if the Avs are having a bit of a Stanley Cup hangover. Or maybe the pieces they used to replace some key departures like Kadri and Kuemper are just not the same. Take the under tonight.

Bonus play

Mega Goal Lotto (Round Robin) Total 1.23 unit play

Jake DeBrusk (+200)

Gustav Nyquist (+260)

Anders Lee (+225)

Bo Horvat (+190)

I'm doing a 2x round robin, so as long as 2 goalscorers hit, this will guarantee some form of profit. I also threw a .25 cent bet or less than .025 units on a 4 leg parlay on the off chance they all hit. Jake DeBrusk is 11th overall in the league with shots on goal (21 through 4 games) and faces a Minnesota Wild team that has been beaten and brutalized for 23 goals in 4 games. Gustav Nyquist has 6 goals scored against the Pens in the last 6 meetings against them. Anders Lee is starting to get hot and will likely face Brian Elliott, who gave up 5 goals in his only outing this season. Bo Horvat has 4 goals in the last 3 games and shooting the puck quiet a bit.
