Hockey Bets 03/20

Yesterday, I locked in a 4-3 record, but it was profitable over 1.25 units. I think this is the more important thing. Any clown could open the paper, and point at and pick 5 heavy favorites at home to win and go 3-2 or 4-1. If they bet money on it though, would they have been profitable with a 3-2 record of HEAVY (-200 or greater) favorites? My bet is probably not. I'm starting to look for good value in lines and bet them fast. I'm noticing that lines set about 24 hours out are pretty good value often. We locked up one last night, that I feel pretty good at +190, for instance. Today's bets include:
Arizona Coyotes ML @ San Jose (+190)
The perception is that the Arizona Coyotes are awful. However, this is far from the truth with the current state of the team. The Coyotes are 7-3-0 in the last 10 games, and they held their own against the Penguins yesterday. Don't be fooled by the 4-1 score, the game was a lot closer than that. Wedgewood logged 45 saves, but Crosby also scored on a beautiful play from Guenztel that no one would have been able to stop with about 4 minutes remaining. The last goal was an empty netter. When you take this game out of the equation, the Coyotes have scored 27 goals in the last 6 games. San Jose enters this game 0-3 in the last 3 games, having scored only 5 goals total in this run. I don't think they are going to have an answer for Arizona tonight. In fact, the line was dwindling down today, I saw it as low as +160 for the Coyotes ML now. If you wanted to be a bit of a gambler, I would consider the 60 minute ML for the Coyotes, which is currently +275 on Draftkings Sportsbook.
Mat Barzal o0.5 assists @ Philadelphia (+130)
Did they ever find Mat Barzal when he went AWOL during the Christmas break? He actually has put up 23 points in the last 27 games, dating back to that stretch, which is pretty good, about average probably for what we were expecting out of him this year. So if they didn't find him, I think Trotz just had them run another clone. No bigs. Barzal played 3 games against the Flyers in January and has 3 points from that sample. The Flyers have also just lost their captain in a trade for Owen Tippett and a few picks. There are still many other players that are rumored to be on the trading block like Provorov, Konency and Sanheim. By the way, Tippett's deployment today will be interesting, if he is ready to play. Keep an eye on that. There's always some guy like a commentator or beat writer on Twitter GUSHING about the play of Ristolainen, and I have to just laugh. They always say "he's tall" as one of their reasons he's a great player. I really don't know what I'm missing here. He's not even a half point per game player or even close this year and he's never EVER had a positive +/- in 9 seasons. Barzal is the type of player to make a slick move and highlight play on Ristolainen, when he tries to just take the body. I'm calling an apple for Barzal today.
Alex Ovechkin o3.5 shots VS Dallas (-155)
I have a set rule that I like to frequently follow about shot props that I usually not end up following anyway (and unwisely admittedly). You never take over 3.5 shots unless the player's name is Ovechkin or Matthews. Well, we got it today. Ovie has 27 shots in the last 5 games, which is well over 3.5 shots (5.4 to be exact). Dallas has been beat up pretty good the last 5 games, going 1-4 in that span. This is too sweet to pass up on.
