That's the way you do it! Money for nothing. Yesterday, we performed well at 5-2, finally giving us a boost of confidence as the weekend comes to a close, and as we try to get over the hump in this roller coaster week. We also hit a nice little +1255 3 leg parlay as an added bonus. Today, we take a few game lines I locked in early last night and 2 player props. There are also a few things I'm interested in that I will make mention of, but can't bet on yet, because not all player props dropped yet. Stay glued to our Twitter to see if we take anything extra tonight.
Mika Zibanejad o0.5 assists VS Philadelphia (-105)
This is almost a slam-dunk to me that you bet the house mortgage on (don't actually do that though, that is not sound financial advice). Philly is getting completely smoked every night, they look terrible, Rasmus Ristolainen is relied on heavily, Martin Jones can't stop a beach ball and is probably going to get the start tonight. Indeed, everything lines up nicely here. The little cherry on top of the cherry on top is that Zib has 23 points against the Flyers in the last 13 games played, including 13 assists. This would be a very attractive over 1.5 points play, but it was only set at 0.5 on Draftkings currently which pays like -250 or something not worth the pennies you win.
Detroit @ Ottawa o6 total goals (-110)
Ottawa and Detroit are near the bottom of their division, but still not below Montreal somehow. It goes to show how badly Montreal started the season off, because I think they are better than both these teams right now. Detroit has been in some real barn-burners lately, being involved in games of 7 goals or more in the last 5/6 games. If you look at March and the one game from April, they have given up 69 (nice!) goals in 15 games or an average of 4.6 goals against a game. The Sens will mix in a huge upset win every once in awhile, but they are struggling as well with a 3-6-1 record in the last 10. Their standard deviation of defensive goals allowed has to be really wild. There are times when they upset St. Louis at home and allow only 1 goal, and then they let up 5, 6, and 8 goals to Arizona, Chicago and Arizona (again), respectively. Lucas Raymond potted 2 goals in their last match-up, which was Friday, and I am flirting with the possibility of betting him to score at half a betting unit maybe at (+245).
Florida Moneyline 1st period (+120)
Florida was down to the Devils 2-6 with less than 15 minutes remaining in the game yesterday, and they still managed to win somehow. Something really clicked at the end of the game and they found themselves winning the game, 7-6 in overtime. I am a believer in such a thing called "momentum" in hockey, and I envision the Panthers continuing this run early on at least. In their last match-up in early March, the Panthers managed to grab an early lead against the Sabres and never look back. I am betting on the same to happen again.
Alex Ovechkin o3.5 shots VS Minnesota (-165)
The rule I follow (which I constantly break), is never bet the over on a 3.5 shot line unless it's someone named Ovechkin or Matthews, and we got the rare chance to bet it again today. We almost cashed in the Teravainen shot line yesterday against Minnesota, even though he had no shots until mid 3rd period. The fact remains that Minnesota seems pretty beatable to me when their goal-tending isn't elite. They now have allowed 38 shots against on average in the last 4 games. Fleury had an amazing game, which bailed them out against Carolina. Ovie will pepper at least 4 shots on Minnesota today.
Other interested bets (need to wait for the lines to drop to confirm odds)
Vegas @ Vancouver
Quinn Hughes has been held off the score sheet in the last 2 games, and he is getting +150 for under 0.5 points. Vegas locked down Seattle to just 2 goals allowed in the last 2. I would probably avoid betting this if Robin Lehner comes back from injury for this game though. You never know how a player will return from injury, especially a goalie who was rumored to be out long-term. OEL is not included yet in the lines, but he is also interesting to look at for the unders if it ever posts.
Edmonton @ Anaheim
Any over point, shot or assist line for the following Oilers: Leon, McDavid, Evander Kane, Hyman.
Shot line for Trevor Zegras (if Getzlaf is confirmed out look at the over, if playing, potentially play an under shot line if it is set at 3.5 or 2.5 with great odds on the under). I am seeing a TON of people on my Twitter feed taking Zegras shot lines, literally smashing the over, every single time. He's getting a lot of recognition and headlines, and very soon this line is going to move away from the (-110) over 2.5 shots we have been seeing and abusing for many weeks now. Trust me. Once the normies all know about it, it's time to get out (or bet the opposite).
Dallas @ Seattle
Joe Pavelski over 0.5 points
