Football Bets Week 9

Football Bets Week 9

Kurt Kuklewicz

Week 9 is a tricky week with some teams on a bye. We also have a slew of injuries all throughout the NFL, making it difficult to project some lines. We take a look at a few this week, with some player props taken.

Josh Palmer ov55.5 receiving yards (-140) @ Atlanta

Hearing that Keenan Allen is likely out for multiple weeks AFTER this one, makes Palmer an intriguing play today against one of the worst (if not the worst) pass defenses in the league. The Falcons are also allowing the most passing attempts in the league with 320 total so far this season. Palmer should be a very strong play today and gather a lot of targets.

Leonard Fournette un77.5 rush + receiving yards (-110) VS LA Rams

Lenny burnt us a week or two ago, so this week we will get our revenge. The emergence of Rachaad White is cutting into his snaps a bit, plus a nagging leg injury hindered him a few weeks ago and could still be an issue. The Rams are a very stout defense. They are a top 5 rushing D unit. However, we also have to look at the Bucs offense at whole, which has been far from impressive the last few weeks, as Terrific Tom is going through some personal / mental battles this season. In the last 6 games, the Bucs total rushing yards has averaged 45.2 yards per game. Lenny is still a threat in the passing game, but taking the rush + rec line gives a little cushion if he happens to have a better game than 50 rushing yards.

Jakobi Meyers ov4.5 receptions (-140) VS Indy

When Bailey Zappe came in for the Patriots at QB, Meyers numbers actually were really good against Detroit (8 targets and 7 receptions). However, in the game against the Browns, he received only 4 targets and 4 catches. Against the Bears (on prime-time of course), he only managed 2 receptions on 2 targets. Last week, reunited with BFF Mac Jones for the entire game, Meyers was back in full time action with 13 (!) targets, hogging 9 receptions. Today, Belichick is licking his lips, playing against an inexperienced QB, which usually means poor possession time if there are a lot of 3 and outs. I expect Meyers to take a lot of routes underneath as the Pats continue to bolster Mac's confidence.

JuJu Smith-Schuster ov55.5 receiving yards (-110) VS Tennessee

Kadarius Toney will be making his debut for the Chiefs tonight. However, a lot of people are sleeping on JuJu this year. Don't be one of those squares, fool! His numbers have actually been pretty solid all season long. He received 8 or more targets in all but 2 games this year. Tonight, he will play against the Titans, who are allowing 274.6 passing yards on average. We are smashing the over for JuJu, and feel very good about it.
