Last night, in a pretty uneventful schedule, we went 2/2 to save grace a little after that brutal Monday slate of player props. Today, we aim to take some risks that may lower our record again, but this time we will do it in style. I need some excitement in my bets, and I am pumped with the 10 games to pick from tonight. Consider yourself lucky. Today is all about odds, we may finish less than 50%, but if it's profitable, who cares? Money is bottom line.
Joe Snively anytime goal scorer @ Philadelphia (+550)
You might be thinking like Thanos, "I don't even know who you are" when you think of Joe Snively. But let me educate you, he is a highly rated prospect that was undrafted. He has probably been the best player with the Hershey Bears this year. Okay, it's not that convincing so far, but he had 38 points in 35 games in the AHL before a call-up to the big league. He plays a bit short at 5'9", but I really have liked his game so far. He has 4 points in his last 3 games, when he was given an uptick in playing time. Now, he has been slotted on the left wing of Backstrom and Wilson, which is a dangerous combination to play with. We know how Backstrom loves to dish the puck. We will ride it and take a calculated risk, while he's hot for a potential mega payout.
Bruins @ Islanders u5.5 goals (-135)
The Bruins and the Islanders come into this battle both struggling to score recently. Let's not forget how physical and grueling this battle was during the playoffs last year. Brad Marchand is still out for clowning and trolling Tristan Jarry. Swayman and Sorokin (likely) are going to be starting tonight. This looks like a low-scoring game. (Congratulations in advance to David Pastranak and Matt Barzal for scoring dueling hat-tricks!)
Arvid Soderblum o2.5 Goals Against VS Columbus (-125)
The Blue Jackets are averaging 3.0 goals a game on the road, and Arvid has looked shaky at best in his two games played this year with a 4.23 GAA and .881 save percentage. It's possible he gets the hook tonight, but he probably won't get that unless he lets up over 2 goals, thus, fulfilling our prophecy.
New York Rangers 60 Minutes Moneyline VS Detroit (-120)
Am I missing something here? Why is this so rewarding of a bet? Did Igor travel back home to Russia for the year or something? The Rangers are ranked as the 11th best team in the league in terms of their odds of winning the Stanley Cup. They are at home, and we already know how dominant they have been this year with their obnoxious crowd base in the stands (sorry Ranger fans, but you know it's true).
Early game parlay
Brayden Schenn o0.5 PPP Points (+205)
Capitals Race to 4 goals excluding OT (+140)
Brock Nelson u0.5 points (-120)
+1242 odds
I like when parlays are pretty close to each other in the time of games played. Let's do a rapid fire, Schenn has been hot and Montreal has a very low penalty kill. Martin Jones is in net for Philly, the Capitals opponent tonight and the race to 4 goals was more rewarding than over 3.5 total goals (excluding OT). Finally, Brock Nelson has been on a cold streak and plays Boston tonight.
Late night parlay
Ryan Getzlaf u0.5 points @ Edmonton (-120)
Conor Garland o0.5 points @ San Jose (+105)
+275
Conor Garland knows how to play versus San Jose. He has averaged over 1.2 points a game in the last 3 years against them, and that's a pretty good sample size at 10 games. Getzlaf will remain an under to me in most categories until the Ducks find their game again.
BONUS FLEX PLAY
Ville Husso Shutout @ Montreal (+950)
Jordan Binnington has been experiencing a brutal couple of games recently. But Husso has been the unsung hero this year for St. Louis. With over 10 quality starts, in the last 11 games, Ville Husso has not given up more than 3 goals once. He also has two shutouts in this time, and Montreal is just an absolute mess right now. For +950, a meme bet of $4.20 will settle just fine.
Mega 5 Game moneyline parlay (+1342)
Columbus
Vancouver
Buffalo
St. Louis
NY Rangers
Obviously there is a lot of legs here, so I am always cautious of randomness here. This is why I picked this- Columbus is playing an inexperienced goalie, Vancouver has the edge in goaltending (assuming Demko starts, which looks likely), Buffalo is playing the Matt Murray less Senators, St. Louis and the Rangers we already covered. For $3.50 tonight, what the heck.
Mega Shot 6 Game Parlay (+3605)
Mitch Marner o2.5 shots VS Pittsburgh
Nick Suzuki o2.5 shots VS St. Louis
Artemi Panarin o2.5 shots VS Detroit
Kyle Connor o3.5 shots VS Seattle
Evander Kane o3.5 shots VS Anaheim
Tom Wilson o1.5 shots @ Philadelphia
+3605
There's a lot I like here (and these could really be broken out single-handedly) but I think the only over I'm second guessing myself here is with Nick Suzuki. However, he should get some of the most chances with the 1st line and power-play deployment he has been logging. $2.75 wins us $101.91.
