It's funny how all it takes is one day to wipe out days of success you had otherwise. After going on a win streak since Tuesday, Friday night had other plans for us. 1-4 is a great way to put us in a hole for the week. Today, we call upon the great king of player props to bless us with 6 player prop bets. Here is what's on the table:
Ratatouille: Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak to combine for 3+ points (boosted +175 on Draftkings)
The odds for Marchand and Pastrnak to get points individually are very low payout at (-250 for Brad and -215 for Pastrnak). This is probably because that Marchand has 7 points in 5 match-ups against the Jackets in the last 3 years and Pasta has 11 points in the last 7 games right now. After a bit of a blowup over-time loss yesterday to the Kings, the Jackets are going back to Merzlikins, which is going to be really tough to battle back from. I generally don't like taking o1.5 points per player, as this is insanely hard to hit usually. But 3 points for 2 players, when they are their best players? I can live with this.
Brayden Schenn o0.5 points @ NY Islanders (-110)
Schenn plays a familiar foe in the New York Islanders, a team he has faced many times while a Philadelphia Flyer. He does sport 21 points in 32 career games, but Schenn has really elevated his game after going to St. Louis. He is clipping at nearly a point per game pace this year with 31 points in 37 games. There is actually a good chance for Schenn to find twine today, but his shots have tailed off a little bit. Therefore, I think points is the best option for him. Skating on a line with the likes of Barbashev and Kyrou, this line had 13 shot attempts against the Rangers in their last game.
Travis Konecny o0.5 points VS Chicago (-140)
Kevin Lankinen is the confirmed starter for today, and it looks like Konency is going to be re-united with Giroux on the top line according to the coach's statement. Kevin Hayes coming back is causing Mike Yeo to shuffle the lines around a bit. Konecny has had a weird couple years in Philly, but recently he has logged a point in 8 out of the last 10 games. He has also started taking to shooting the puck more, with 10 shots in the last 3 games. That makes the +110 over 2.5 shots an attractive option as well. Giroux has been the center of trade rumors for what seems like months now, and he wants to finish his tenure at Philly with a bang. I can definitely see Claude and Travis getting easily involved in at least one goal together today.
Brock Boeser o0.5 assists @ Toronto (+215)
Boeser is on the top line with JT Miller and Tanner Pearson and that is tremendous for his value tonight, against the Maple Leafs. We know the Leafs have been struggling defensively in the most recent games, and Boeser also sports a nice 12 points in the last 12 games played against Toronto, including 9 assists. Earlier in the year, he logged a goal and an apple against Toronto in their only match-up thus far. Miller has been going absolutely bonkers with 15 points scored in the last 8 games played. He also has 5 goals scored in that stretch. I like Boeser's chances to get involved in at least one goal today, dishing the puck out to one of his teammates at the +215 line set.
Sam Reinhart o2.5 shots VS Detroit (+110)
Detroit have legit been giving up touchdowns and field goals in the recent games they played. In the last four games, Detroit has given up 21 goals (with a 10 goal self-destruction), and average letting up 34.5 shots a game. Reinhart has managed to log 16 shots in the last four games played. Shots have screwed us over recently, but this looks good to end our little cold-streak here today.
Cole Caufield o0.5 points @ Edmonton (-120)
I said it before, I'll say it again. Do not get off the Cole Train until it has fully stopped moving. Martin St. Louis was a god-send for Cole. I don't care if it is Mike Smith, Mikko Koskinen, Staurt Skinner or even Grant Fuhr in net today for the Oilers. Smash the over for the Cole-Train.
