We got a huge slate of 11 games on this packed Tuesday, and I am salivating at all the potential opportunity. For the first time ever, we call upon the king of Player Props to help us settle 7 bets (and a bonus). Do what you please with these props, but let's get to work!
Jake Guentzel o3.5 shots VS Florida (+115)
Jake is getting in a nice zone lately, with 5 points in the last 3 games, while also taking 10 shots in that stretch. Earlier in the year, he had 9 shots and 4 shots in their two match-ups, respectively. Keep in mind that the Panthers gave up 16 goals in the 3 games before they played Ottawa, Detroit and Buffalo.
Alex Pietrangelo o0.5 points @ Philadelphia (+110)
I'm not going to sugarcoat it, Philly is a MESS right now. In their December 10th match-up, Pietrangelo posted two assists. The goalie that game was Carter Hart (also confirmed for tonight). Poor Hart. He gets drafted and touted as a high prospect, only to slowly die in the great goalie graveyard known as Philly. I wonder what team he will go to and win the Vezina on (like Bob) after the Philly fan-base runs him out of town. Maybe they'll fare better on the exchange than just a 2nd and 4th rounder this time.
Nick Schmaltz o0.5 points @ Detroit (-130)
I don't know if you heard about this, but Nick Schmaltz just scored 7 (SEVEN) fricking points in one game. I know it was Ottawa, but is Detroit's defense really that much better? They just let up a touchdown and field goal to the Maple Leafs a few games ago.
Ryan Strome o0.5 points @ Minnesota (-130)
We already talked about Minnesota's awful defensively play as they were letting up 4.55 goals in the last 9 games. Well... somehow they managed to INCREASE that after letting up 6 goals to the Dallas Stars. This team might just end up as this year's version of the Arizona Cardinals. Fantastic youth and great start, but wow. Those games they are losing recently are bad. Give me Strome to log a point, playing with Panarin. He has a great chance to log an assist (+135).
Trevor Zegras o2.5 shots @ Chicago (+135)
With Getzlaf out the past two games, Zegras has done well to fill his shoes with about 19 minutes of ice time on average, and 4 shots per game. I think the right move is to start trusting him more on the top line. He is clearly showing us all that he is ready. Chicago is a great team to pepper shots on recently, as Marc-Andre Fleury is just getting everything thrown at him now. Will someone please save this man at the trade deadline? We all want him to do well.
Nikita Kucherov o3.5 shots @ Winnipeg (+125)
Russian Machine No Break. Okay but seriously, Kucherov is a shooting machine, and he gets the Jets tonight who are allowing over 35 shots on goal in the last 3 games.
Elias Lindholm anytime goal scorer VS Washington (+160)
Lindholm recorded a hat-trick in their last game against Washington this year. The goalie was Vanacek, who is also starting again tonight. It's not just that though. Look at the numbers- this man is Denzel Washington (Man On Fire). He has 25 points in the last 16 games, including 13 games.
Bonus Bet:
Roope Hintz o0.5 Power Play Points @ Nashville (+230)
If you're feeling cheeky tonight, there's a good chance that the Stars power-play will cash in against Nashville if given plenty of opportunities. The Predators are the 2nd most penalized team in the league with 193 penalties killed, and they have a below average kill at 79.79%. Given the way that the Stars are rolling, it would not be surprising to see them make this the 5th power-play goal (and potential for more) in the last 5 games.
