Hockey bets 02/07

After what feels like several months of no "real" hockey on TV, we are blessed with two great games today. The Senators host the Devils in possibly the barn-burner of the year, you definitely won't want to miss this one! This is just one notch above of the Coyotes / Habs game we got earlier in the year. We also get the Hurricanes and Maple Leafs in an enticing match-up as well, that promises to bring us some type of revenge goalie match-ups for Mrazek and Freddie Anderson (maybe) going against their old teams of last year.

Senators -1.5 Puck Line (+195):

Matt Murray is in net and confirmed (lifetime 7-3-1 record vs the Devils), and the Sens have actually performed pretty well lately. They are at least making their games interesting to watch or close with a 4-4-2 record in the last 10. The Devils, however, have let up the 3rd most amount of goals in the league and are just playing awful recently. They are 1-9 in the last 10, coming into an away game with a 6 game losing streak. There ain't no heart here to perform well tonight. Expect Ottawa to grab the lead early and "truck through" the Devils the rest of the night.

Maple Leafs / Hurricanes 1st period o1.5 goals (-135):

These period bets have been hit or miss for us. However, in the prominent match-up for tonight's low amount of games, I expect most people will watch this one, if given the choice. Here we have two high octane offenses running full speed at each other. The Maple Leafs have been involved in first periods that totaled 13 scores total in their last 5 games. Carolina has been involved in some low scoring games recently (and therefore my reasoning to not smash the o6 goals overall), but this game will be interesting to watch at the very beginning. It has to, for the love of god, please don't make us watch the Sens and Devils.
