Yesterday was a bit of an off-day for us at 3-4. However, there is great news. We survived an under player prop! Patrick Laine under a point at +110 was a great cash, and makes me (somewhat) believe in playing unders again. Today, there are only four games, but I've researched four bets that pay good odds that I feel pretty confident about. Let's see what the deal is:
7 PM games:
Patrick Laine anytime goal scorer VS Minnesota (+140)
Like I said yesterday, one day you love him and he scores 2 goals for you, the next, he has 0 points, 0 shots, -4 plus / minus and plays terrible defense to deserve getting him benched almost (Torts would have). Hopefully, you take the under on the right day, and the over on the right day. Laine has at least played against Minnesota in the past and he sports 5 goals against them in the last 5 games played. Granted, that was on the Jets and before the pandemic. Taking a look at his stats recently though, and you will see that Laine is poised for another goal very soon (especially against a team struggling with their goaltending and defense). There were 21 shots in the last 5 games before New York and Trotz shut him down. The Wild have also been the West's version of the Maple Leafs, so that is positive too.
Jeff Carter o2.5 shots VS Vegas (+140)
Carter is on the 3rd line, but he knows how to shoot against Vegas. Just earlier this year, during a match-up against Vegas he had 6 shots on net. I know what you're thinking, and I did verify that both Malkin and Crosby were playing that game as well. It just seems to me like Vegas has not really been working the puck well on their bottom six. They are not getting any secondary scoring here recently either. Who will Carter have to try and out-work with puck possession tonight? William Carrier? Nicolas Roy? Jake Leschyshyn? Possibly the most realistic person he can play against that would be toughest to worry about is Chandler Stephenson. And let's be honest, this dude's stat total this year is totally boosted by the fact that he was somehow playing first line all season before Eichel came in. What mix and match will coach DeBoer go with tonight? I feel pretty strong Carter will smoke any of these kids.
Anders Lee o0.5 points VS Winnipeg (-105)
Lee has been on a nice run lately, as he just scored a hat-trick against Columbus last night. Additionally, he has 6 points in the last two games including 10 shots on net. It doesn't seem like Vegas has fixed their betting lines around yet to reflect his recent play. Winnipeg has been struggling with shots against lately, but I like Lee's chances better to put up a point tonight. He also had 2 points against them earlier this year.
If you parlayed all, it would give you +1024 odds tonight.
10 PM games:
Anthony Mantha o0.5 points @ Vancouver (+105)
Mantha has slowly been getting eased back into the lineup since his injury, but he was on the second line most recently with Backstrom. I like his chances to get a point against Vancouver tonight, who are still giving up a lot of goals against. C'mon Lavy, let Mantha loose!
