Hockey Bets 02/14

Kurt Kuklewicz

Put a profitable week in the books for us! That's what it is all about. It has taken a little bit of experimentation to rid myself of (most) impulsive or emotional bets. And while I am having the most success on player props, I am also having the most fun with them. Is being happy and having the most fun the key to successful sports betting? The King of Props is here to find out with a happy go lucky string of three overs for us tonight:

Mitch Marner o2.5 shots on goal @ Seattle (-150)

Okay, is this a glitch here? How could it be this easy? If you read our article on 02/12, you would know that Mitch Marner was featured there with the same exact over taken. He did not disappoint with 5 total shots against Vancouver. In fact, the whole team had 53 (!) shots on net. Before that game, Mitch had 21 shots taken in the prior 3 games. Now, in the last four games, Mitch has over 26 shots taken, or a 6.5 a game. This is insane. Do we just keep betting this every night Toronto play? This seems like an exploit you just found on your favorite hockey video game that is made by a company that rhymes with "LA Sports". The game-play is still busted since 2009, but don't worry, next year they will come out with a sweet new gametype "Be a Puck mode" and updated mascots. Keep on glitching!

Pierre Luc-Dubois o2.5 shots on goal VS Chicago (-120)

Pierre has more of a reputation as a playmaker than a shooter or sniper, but did you know that in the past 3 games he has 13 shots on net? He also received a whooping 21:42 ice time against Nashville and is getting very favorable deployment this year. Dubois is centering Connor and Perfetti tonight on the 2nd line, but is still working the point on the powerplay according to the morning skate. For further confirmation of bias to our bet, let me list out the most recent number of shots Marc-Andre Fleury has faced in his last 10 games and make you very sad that he's not on a better team somewhere else where he deserves to be: 31, 41, 30, 31, 25, 33, 29, 13 (pulled), 37 and 37! Never an easy night.

Brent Burns o0.5 assists VS Edmonton (-105)

Staurt Little is the goalie tonight for Edmonton (okay, not really), and I like this game for the Sharks actually. Brent Burns has 3 assists in his last 4. I know it's a long time going back, but I could only find 2 games dating back to the 2018-19 season where Brent Burns didn't get an assist against Edmonton. Some of the players may have changed since then, but has the Oilers goaltending really improved since then? No. Long live Duck Dynasty.
