Hockey Bets 04/27

Kurt Kuklewicz

I have never in my life experienced such a series of high and lows in betting last night, like I did last night in such a short amount of time. Yes, we went 5-1 on our featured bets in the article (including 5-0 on player props). But we were just one leg away from completing our featured 3 leg parlay of the night. Needing just Nashville to beat Calgary in any fashion last night, they were up 4-3 with under a second left in the game. Then, the unthinkable happened and the game was tied at exactly 0.1 seconds. Obviously, they would go on to lose the game after this debacle, thus destroying our hopes and dreams of achieving our featured 3 leg parlay. I was sitting in disbelief for most of the time after that- but then I realized I actually had a great chance at amassing all player props. I sprinkled a small amount just on the off-chance that I would sweep. To be fair, I did feel pretty confident about a lot of those legs. 4 legs out of 5 were already hit at this point. Then, Logan Couture dished out a nice assist on the powerplay to Brent Burns. Parlay hit! Suddenly, everything was great again. If this isn't a pure definition of a gambling addiction, I don't know what is. I'll get some help about that maybe... But tonight, there are 5 games, and while I didn't like much at first glance- I found a few gems for tonight.

Montreal Moneyline @ NY Rangers (+245)

So I admit that I had a $10 free bet that I threw on this for kicks. Obviously, Montreal is 1-9 in their last 10 and have been sliding steadily recently so there is some risk here. Igor started yesterday and the Rangers are pretty much locked in #2 in the Metro. Andrew Copp and Artemi Panarin have both been ruled out early in the morning. This isn't going to be an easy slam-dunk match by any means for Montreal, but at +245 I sniped it. I see the lines are near +170 or so now. If I lose, it was just a free bet. That's the excuse I'll use.

Matty Beniers ov0.5 points VS LA (-105)

Until Vegas adjusts their lines, I will bet at or near even money on Matty Beniers points while he has 3 goals and 3 assists in his first 7 games this year. Last night, he did not disappoint us with an assist on the powerplay. Matty B is getting great deployment, and he is making the best of his time right now. I think because he has not broken out with 2 or more points in a game, the lines are still kind of soft on him and he is flying under the radar with Seattle.

Kevin Hayes ov2.5 shots @ Winnipeg (-135)

Hayes is on the first line for Philly, which has been doing well lately. In the last 5 games, Hayes has shot 3 or more times in 4/5. It's been awhile since he played against Winnipeg, but he does have 10 shots in his most recent 2 games against them. Winnipeg has improved shots against recently a little bit, but they are still in the bottom 5 in the league in their last 10 games.

Roope Hintz ov2.5 shots VS Arizona (+100)

Hintz is a good play tonight for the odds and money tonight with the shot totals. He has 10 shots in his last 3 games and with 13 points in the last 9 games, he is a threat for a goal. He does have 3 goals as well in 3 games against Arizona this year, so if he's scoring, he's shooting obviously. Finally, we know that Arizona has been letting up enormous amounts of shots in general. Take us home Roope.
