Another day, another absolute WRECKING. The 1-3 record last night put us to 5-10 on the week and down 4.43 betting units. I guess all things considered, it could have been worse. I took mostly game lines and team props because we were running cold on player props, and of course the only thing that hit yesterday was the one player prop. There is still hope. We call on the king of player props to bail us out with 5 player prop bets. I also take one 60 minute money-line.
Brayden Point o1.5 points VS Chicago (+175)
How many points could Brayden Point log, if Point kept scoring points against Chicago? The answer is over 1.5. Point has 6 points in the last 4 games, as it looks like the Tampa Bay Lightning have finally got another home game on the schedule today. They just went through a weird stretch where they had only 2 games played at home in the last 12. They under-performed a bit, going 3-6 in the first 9 games of this 12 game stretch, but they went 3-0 in the last 3 played. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but I expect Lankinen to get the call today on the back-to-back. He's let up 11 goals in the last 71 shots, so as long as Tampa is shooting the puck today, there should be plenty of points for Point to log.
Robert Thomas o0.5 points @ Edmonton (-130)
Rob Thomas is so smooth! As someone who was going up against him in fantasy hockey, the past two weeks, he was frustrating to go against. 1 goal and 4 assists in the last 3 games played, but he also has 11 points in the last 7 games. There's good odds to log a point, most likely an assist against Edmonton.
Brady Tkachuk anytime goal scorer @ Detroit (+170)
The Red Wings have been getting lit up for goals lately, and I'm really surprised that Jeff Blashill has a job still, to be honest. 30 goals against in the last 6 games is very bad, even if you take out the 12 goal debacle against the Penguins. I'm not saying that the Senators will blow them up for 5+ goals tonight, but I like Tkachuk at +170. His style of play is a mismatch for the young Wings.
Jeff Skinner o3.5 shots VS Nashville (+140)
I've noticed that the Preds have been giving up a lot of shots and high quality chances lately. The Flyers, for example, have scored 9 goals against them in the last 2 weeks. The more troubling number (if the Flyers scoring at will against you wasn't troubling enough) is that the shots allowed have been very awful for the Preds lately. In the last 10, the Predators have given up 347 shots, or 34.7 against on average. For reference, the two worst teams in the league giving up shots are the Arizona Coyotes (35.57 per game) and Columbus Blue Jackets (35.31 per game). Jeff Skinner is very streaky, but right now he has been shooting the puck, with 4 or more shots in the last 3 out of 4 games. Skinner should likely be paired with Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch in this one, boosting his deployment for a shot at 4 or more shots tonight.
Jonathan Marchessault o0.5 PPP @ Seattle (+220)
I took a break from logging Power-Play points against Seattle, but today brings a new opportunity. Marchessault has 7 points in the last 3 games, 3 of which were on the man advantage. We already talked about how bad the penalty-kill was for Seattle in the last 10 games or so and recently they bumped down to the 4th worst PK in the league. They let up 14 PPG in their 12 games played in March, and Marchessault put up 2 points against them on Tuesday.
New York Rangers 60 minute moneyline (-110)
Igor in net, the Rangers at home where they have been dominant, against the Islanders who have a negative goal differential on the road- everything sets up nicely for a Ranger win in regulation.
