Hockey Bets 04/23

Kurt Kuklewicz

In the last two days, we are 6-0 on our hockey straight bets. Straight cash, homie! Today, there are plenty of betting opportunities, and currently I have 5 plays as of now. As always, stay tuned to @StatGlitchers on Twitter for any last minute plays.

Jakub Vrana ov2.5 shots VS Pittsburgh (-105)

Vrana has been playing well with Detroit this year, including 17 points in 22 games. I would have loved to see him play the whole season, because I think he could have surpassed his 52 point season high total, easily. Vrana has been clipping at 4 shots per game in the last 3, and performs well against Pittsburgh with 8 points in the last 10 match-ups. Additionally, he has a larger role on Detroit now as well. Pittsburgh has been doing well with DeSmith recently, but they feel like they are on the verge of a massive defensive collapse any minute when I'm watching them. They are really tempting fate. His performance against the Bruins was very impressive, but the Bruins had extremely dangerous chances and shots all game long. In their last 10 games played, the Penguins are letting up over 36.20 shots per game. This is 3rd worst, only behind Detroit and our favorite shot prop team to play against, Winnipeg. I'm smashing the over 2.5 shots for Vrana today at -105.

Anders Lee ov0.5 points @ Buffalo (-115)

The Sabres are averaging 3.7 goals against in their last 10 games played. Enter Anders Lee, who is on a mild cold streak with 0 points in the last 3 games, but he did play the Rangers, Florida and Toronto to be fair. In the only two match-ups against the Sabres, Anders Lee had a point in each game, including 2 goals and 1 assist. Craig Anderson is out, and I like Anders to get on the board for at least one time today. The funk ends here!

Filip Forsberg ov2.5 shots @ Tampa Bay (-175)

This is one of those cases, where I looked at the match-ups last night and circled Forsberg for potential over 3.5 shots. However, the line on Draftkings is set at just 2.5, which is even better, even if its at just -175. Forsberg has 3 or more shots for 5 games in a row. Additionally, he has 3 or more shots in 10 out of the last 11 games. In their only match-up this season, Forsberg mustered 5 shots on net against Tampa.

St. Louis Blues ov3.5 Team Total Goals 60 minutes @ Arizona (-175)

This is strictly a numbers game. In their last 10 games, the Blues are averaging 4.8 goals a game, which is 2nd best in the league. The Coyotes are averaging 5.1 goals against a game in their last 10, which is by FAR the worst in the league. We can bet on Blues goal-scorers (and maybe I will anyway later), but the smarter play is playing the over 3.5 goals, in my opinion. Sateri gets the start for Arizona, and he has been brutal in his limited work this season with 2 losses in 2 games started including 6.33 GAA and .809 SV %. You think people will be willing to pay $15K for a season ticket next year after they witness tonight?

Brock Boeser ov0.5 points @ Calgary (-115)

I've been watching Brock close lately, and he has been putting up some points after a small absence from the lineup. In the last 3 games played, he has 6 points. While they are still playing for a playoff spot technically and on a roll, I will bet with Brock tonight. When he gets hot, you want to roll him, and he has great numbers against Calgary historically.
